Babymetal (Japanese: ベビーメタル) (stylized BABYMETAL) is a Japanese Kawaii metal band formed in 2010. The band was formed with the original lineup of Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal), Moa Kikuchi (Moametal) and Yui Mizuno (Yuimetal). The band is produced by Kobametal from the Amuse talent agency. Their vocals are backed by Heavy Metal instrumentation, performed by a group of session musicians known as the Kami Band at performances. In 2018, Yuimetal left the band due to health issues. During a live band performance, the band is always accompanied by one or more backup dancers. And one of the dancers is called Momoko Okazaki, a former member of the group Sakura Gakuin. In April 2023, the band made Momoko Okazaki official as the new member of the band, and being called "Momometal".
