Charles Edward Anderson Berry (October 18, 1926 - March 18, 2017), better known as Chuck Berry, was an American singer, guitarist and songwriter, being pioneer of the Rock and Roll. Berry earned the nickname The Father of Rock and Roll and further refined and developed rhythm and blues into the key elements that made rock and roll distinctive with his songs including "Maybellene", "Roll Over Beethoven" , "Rock and Roll Music" and, of course, the popular "Johnny B. Goode". Throughout his life, Berry wrote lyrics focused on teenage life and consumerism, and developing a musical style that included guitar solos and showmanship, becoming a major influence on subsequent rock.
