Guitar Hero was released on the PlayStation 2 on November 8, 2005 in North America.

Guitar Hero is the first of many games in the Guitar Hero series (preceding Guitar Hero II), that came with 47 songs. However, there are two additional songs that are left on the rom, which can only be accessed with a cheating device (GameShark 2, Codebreaker...). All songs (except bonus songs) are covers made by WaveGroup.
